La Casa Multicultural Center  |   Accomplishments

La Casa Shelter is one of the few English-Spanish bilingual low-barrier overnight shelters in the District. It is the first phase in the homeless continuum of care. Men enter the shelter each day at 7:00 p.m. and exit at 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Thirty (30%) of its clients are Hispanic. In an effort to help the non-English-speaking Hispanic homeless, the Coalition continues to focus on their cultural and communication needs and has partnered with other community-based organizations to serve them.
